We don’t call it The Week That Changes Lives for nothing.
As founder of HBCU Week, an annual celebration of America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), we’ve given more than $12M in scholarships since I started the event in 2017. Over the last three years, 107 full scholarships and 583 partial scholarships have been offered at HBCU Week, in addition to over 2,000 on-the-spot acceptances for students to attend an HBCU.
Our efforts don’t end when students get on campus. Sustaining a college-to-corporate pipeline for HBCU graduates to find employment in corporate America is the long-term impact that we seek to make through the event.
