List view sorting challenges
Prior to Winter ’25, list views only supported single column sort. That works until you’re facing a wall of record data that’s complex and you need to know what’s most important. For example, looking at a list of opportunities by close date doesn’t help you identify which opportunities have the largest value. Or viewing a list of contacts by last name doesn’t order them by first name secondarily. That’s frustrating and costs users valuable time.
One workaround was to use list view filters. Using the opportunities example, you could sort on close date and filter out all the smallest opportunities by amount. But then you’ve truncated your visible data set, and either created yet
